REQUIRE A BESPOKE LOOK?

Wide sliding wardrobe doors can make a dramatic statement in any room when carefully designed to suit. Ideally extra wide wardrobes create the best effect when accommodated in a large room space. In a large spacious room such as the example below the extra wide 4 door wardrobe creates a striking feature avoiding the ‘over busy’ look that a larger number of narrower doors would present. Within smaller rooms wide wardrobes are definitely a statement piece.
This example of a wide sliding wardrobe is a 4 door wardrobe and is a custom door design. Each door is approximately 110cm wide. The frame is silver steel and the door panels are Dark Walnut with alternate grey glass panels.
Wardrobe Doors Direct can make sliding wardrobe doors up to 150cm wide. We regularly supply wardrobes with doors 120cm wide and wider. On the website the maximum door width you can order online is 1220mm which we consider to be a very wide door. We can and have supplied doors that are wider than this; please call Freephone 0800 035 1730 for further information and a custom quote. If you wish to have doors that exceed 120cm width we would recommend that an aluminium frame is used for added strength and rigidity.
Our online wardrobe design tool allows you to specify and order up to 5 doors online; please call for 6 door, 7 door or 8 door wardrobes.
When ordering wide wardrobe doors please bear in mind that if they are glass panel doors there will be a considerable amount of weight in them and most likely you will need two people to carry and fit the doors. Our sliding wardrobe doors are bottom-load bearing and as such they have ball bearing running gear so the size of the doors will not affect the smoothness of the opening and closing action.
Prior to specifying wide wardrobe doors you should also give consideration to where the wardrobe doors are going to be finally installed. For example, if you need to carry them through a hallway or landing, or up a flight of stairs that has restricted space either widthways or in height, you should ensure that the doors will comfortably fit through this space. If the door design uses H-bars then individual doors can be taken apart and put back together but we recommend reading the following article prior to dis-assembling your doors: How our sliding wardrobe doors are put together – coming soon. Please note: Wardrobe Doors Direct will not be held responsible for any damage or subsequent malfunction of the doors should you decide to take the doors apart.
